The associate executive director of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva builds upon years of experience in the field of public health research. In addition to his work with the AAP, Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva is a fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).

The largest nonprofit medical association that concentrates exclusively on critical care practice, the SCCM supports a range of educational and advocacy initiatives. It also contributes to medical research through affiliated organizations such as the SCCM-Weil Research Trust.

Named in honor of the SCCM’s founding president, Dr. Max Harry Weil, the SCCM-Weil Research Trust has been funding research grants since 2015. The specific amounts of these grants vary from year to year, depending on the annual profits realized from the Trust’s investments. The Trust will award two grants of $50,000 each during the 2017 calendar year.
