To accomplish this goal, AAP creates Life Support Programs such as Pediatric First Aid for Caregivers and Teachers, or PedFACTs.

PedFACTs is a pediatric first aid course that trains teachers and caregivers to provide immediate care if a child becomes ill or gets injured. Specifically, the course focuses on the application of Pediatric First Aid’s 4Cs, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and the proper use of an automated external defibrillator and epinephrine auto-injector. After completing the course and passing the examinations, teachers and caregivers are given a PedFACTs course completion certificate that is valid for 2 years.
